Rum and Revolution!

7th Feb 2023

On Monday, February 20, we will have a historic Rum and Revolution walking tour, with a rum tasting! From the thriving colonial rum trade through the temperance movement and Prohibition era smuggling, learn about the changing role of alcohol in the community. This tour starts at the Museum of Newport History (127 Thames Street) and ends at Stoneacre Brasserie where a historic drink will be served. Participants must be 21 or older. This hour-long tour is presented by a guide wearing authentic historical clothing.

Tickets cost $40 per person or $55 for the combo tour ticket and rum cup; $35 for Newport Historical Society members and active duty military or $50 with the tour ticket rum cup; with the Winter Festival bracelet, it’s $37 per person or $52 for the tour ticket and rum cup.
